Takakannesta:
In the months after his father's suicide, it's been tough for 16-year-old Aaron Soto to find happiness again--but he's still gunning for it. With the support of his girlfriend Genevieve and his overworked mom, he's slowly remembering what that might feel like. But grief and the smile-shaped scar on his wrist prevent him from forgetting completely.

When Genevieve leaves for a couple of weeks, Aaron spends all his time hanging out with this new guy, Thomas. Aaron's crew notices, and they're not exactly thrilled. But Aaron can't deny the happiness Thomas brings or how Thomas makes him feel safe from himself, despite the tensions their friendship is stirring with his girlfriend and friends. Since Aaron can't stay away from Thomas or turn off his newfound feelings for him, he considers turning to the Leteo Institute's revolutionary memory-alteration procedure to straighten himself out, even if it means forgetting who he truly is.

Why does happiness have to be so hard?

Ensinnäkin, tämä kansi on ihana. Toiseksi, tämä on Adam Silveran debyytti novelli. Kolmanneksi, mä ihastuin ja haluan lukea lisää Silveran teoksia. Mä joudun kuitenkin pettymään, koska vasta ensi vuonna ilmestyy hänen toinen novellinsa(tammikuussa, ehkä mä kestän).

More Happy Than Not kertoo 16-vuotiaasta Aaron Sotosta, joka yrittää kerätä itseään kokoon maailman menolta. Hänen isänsä on tehnyt itsemurhan muutamia kuukausia sitten ja Aaron itse vastikään yritti viedä oman henkensä. Samalla Leteo-mainoksia on kaikkialla. Leteo on toimenpide, jolla voidaan muokata ja unohtaa huonoja muistoja yksilön elämästä.
Aaronilla on ainoana tukenaan tyttöystävänsä Genevieve.

BWROTJASKHOSLN.. Mä niin tykkäsin tästä! Mut teos vei melkein heti mukanaan alusta lähtien, mutta puolessa välissä olin jo täysin mennyttä. Kaikki tapahtumat tuli täysin puskista(!!), enkä voinut kuin lukea kirjan nopeasti loppuun.
Teos on rankka. Se käsittelee oman seksuaalisen suuntautumisensa löytämistä, homofobiaa, itsemurhaa ja masennusta. More Happy Than Not särkee sydämen. Se on surullinen ja masentava, mutta silti kirjasta paistoi toivon pilkahdus. Se jätti mut miettimään pariksi päiväksi sen tapahtumia, enkä pystynyt sinä aikana lukemaan mitään muuta kirjaa.

“I've become this happiness scavenger who picks away at the ugliness of the world, because if there's happiness tucked away in my tragedies, I'll find it no matter what. If the blind can find joy in music, and the deaf can discover it with colors, I will do my best to always find the sun in the darkness because my life isn't one sad ending—it's a series of endless happy beginnings.”

Nyt mun ensi vuoden odotetuimpiin kirjoihin kuuluu, Adam Silveran toinen teos History Is All You Left Me. Takannesta:
"OCD-afflicted Griffin has just lost his first love, Theo, in a drowning accident. In an attempt to hold onto every piece of the past, he forges a friendship with Theo's last boyfriend, Jackson. When Jackson begins to exhibit signs of guilt, Griffin suspects he's hiding something, and will stop at nothing to get to the truth about Theo's death. But as the grieving pair grows closer, readers will question Griffin's own version of the truth both in terms of what he's willing to hide and what true love means."
